Show, Other Opportunities, Meeting, Membership

Hey Hoofpicks!  Hope you have a good Spring Break planned.  As usual there's a lot of things going on:

OPEN HORSE SHOW
We're about a month away from our 2nd Horse Show of the series so it's time for a big push to get things ready and all the volunteer spots filled.  We had great feedback at the last show and we gained some new members.  Our club officers and members stepped up and ran many aspects of the show and did a great job with it.  All of this highlights that the Open Horse Show is fulfilling it's intended purpose which is to develop leadership, responsibility, and provide a service to the community, while learning and participating in a broad range of horse programs and raising funds for more club activities.  We're hoping for everyone to pitch in and make the show a success.  Take a minute and fill in the volunteer sheet for the job(s) you would like to do.  If you have questions regarding the volunteer positions let us know and we'll get you the information you need or look for the job descriptions links on the right side of the shows page
Also early registration for Hoofpicks' members - ALL events $65 for members if turned in at the March 29 meeting.  Download, print, and fill out your SHOWBILL before hand and bring to the meeting.

OPPORTUNITIES
Hoofpicks is well known in the community and we get many invitations and requests for volunteers in our email box.  Rather than us emailing the club every time something comes in, we will be posting those opportunities primarily on the web site.  Occasionally we'll forward emails that seem most relevant or critical to our club or county, but you may be interested in knowing what other opportunities are out there so check back often.  A couple worth mentioning today include the ACTHA  and the Central Texas Horse festival benefits both for the Horse Boy Foundation and Mini's and Friends.  Both of these sound like fun events and are being hosted by one of our sponsors and supporters.  Also see the flyer regarding the Bertram Team Penning Clinic which the Antolik's have kindly offered to head up in hopes to get a Team Penning team ready for the State horse show in June.

NEXT MEETING
March 29 at the CEO 7:00PM.

4H MEMBERSHIP
Our email list is reaching approximately 140 individuals, however 4H Connect indicates many of our active members have not actually joined or renewed their 4H membership.  Enrollment in 4H-Connect is mandatory.  If you are not a registered member, you will not be covered by liability insurance, and you will not be counted in the State enrollment numbers which is tracked for funding and effectiveness of the programs and scholarship eligibility.  It also is not just an online registration tool, but also offers members a way to track your years of membership, projects, events attended, etc.  If you plan to use your 4H experiences for references in the future you should take a few minutes to update your profile online and continue to keep it up to date each year.  Visit https://tx.4honline.com to login and check your status.  We will also be reaching out to individuals at the meetings if your status is inactive and will help you get things up to date.

Have a great week, and we hope to see you at the next meeting.
