Latest Hoofpicks' News & Announcements for February
- Open Riding Sesson has been cancelled for tonight, Thursday, February 10th, 2011.
- We have a riding session scheduled for this coming Sunday, February 13. Yay!Ramona will be directing this one, and she plans to have one session from 1:00 - 3:00 for general horsemanship and a second session from 3:00 - 5:00 more focused on speed events. However, whether you are into speed events or not, both sessions are helpful for everyone, including beginners. If you don't want to do speed on your horse, you and your horse can still learn from the techniques she uses without doing them fast. I will probably post a question on the 4H Hoofpicks Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/hoofpicks ) in the near future asking for input on what areas you would like to focus our riding sessions (Horsemanship, speed, roping cattle, etc.).I'll get back to you with more specific lesson plans later in the week, but I wanted to let everyone know so you can plan to be there. There is a minimum number of riders we need to have in order to have the session, so let me know if you plan to come by replying to hoofpicks.riding@gmail.com as soon as you can.All current Hoofpicks members are welcome to bring a horse and ride. It is $15 for each 2 hour session. Be sure to bring your current Coggins papers on each horse you bring. I have some on file from Mr. Bergman's records, but bring them anyway just to be on the safe side. A parent or guardian needs to stay during the session.Sundra Lemanski 512-964-2015
